All About the Ball
Christopher Sullivan
$400.00

Dimensions: 20 x 16 x 1.5
A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of “Passion" (150-500 words).: This dog is highly passionate about play time, all the time!! Her favorite is tennis balls. She is constantly bringing them into my studio and wanting me to throw it while I’m working. One look in her eyes and I have to stop for a few mins to play with her. I throw the ball high into the air and she takes off with everything she has. Her legs lift her from this earth and in pure joy and passion she makes contact with the ball. Grabbing it in her mouth as she returns to the ground to do it all over again.

$1,500.00

Dimensions: 60 x 48 x 1.5
A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of “Passion" (150-500 words).: My painting titled "Hardcore" refers to the spray paint brand as well as the attitude of "Urban" or "Street" artists I admire greatly. These artists are hardcore, in that they paint every day knowing their work will often be painted over and destroyed within hours. Banksy says, "People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible, and childish... but that's only if it's done properly." And, I agree with Jorit Agoch who says, "The important thing is that each work is always guided by passion." To me, street art is urban poetry and I think we need it for our souls.

$190.00

Dimensions: 24 x 18 x 0.01
A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of “Passion" (150-500 words).: The feeling of passion is exhilarating all the while the person subjected to it most of the time fathoms that this could go sideways if allowed to expand and take over mind, body and soul. Genuine passion, fully lived, is a potentially dangerous and could lead to a miscalculation in risk and danger as to the outcome. Being passionate about mountain climbing, deep-sea diving, arrow-shooting or breeding homing pigeons, or being passionately in love with a person can bring about a life of personal fulfillment, serenity, peace and joy, or it can totally destroy the self if the counterpart of such passion endangers or annihilates life. Passion is like gambling. You bet on red or black. You win or loose. This poem recounts my very first in-person encounter with a man with whom, for six weeks, I had only exchanged by email and telephone, but who had stirred up in me such a desire to know him in person, that across the oceans I accepted his invitation to come spend nine days at his house. My intellect yelled "you are crazy!" and my heart whispered "what if he is the ONE"? I took the chance to follow my passion and did not regret it for one second. We had eleven years, two months and seventeen days of passion gifted to us thanks to listening to our hearts, rather than our minds. I could not imagine where I would be without this experience.

José Martín Lepe Lagares
$1,200.00

Dimensions: 25 x 21 x 15
A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of “Passion" (150-500 words).: The representation of the kiss has always been an icon that universally reflects the most romantic love. The history of art is full of examples in which different artists have reflected the kiss. In my case, I use the resources of the unfinished and the use of the fragment to accentuate the expressiveness of the moment, the movement of the scene. On the other hand, it represents the moment before the kiss, it does not reflect the kiss itself, but the exact moment that precedes it. This fact accentuates the passion of the scene. The effect of patinated terracotta, highlighting the gesture of the modeling process, gives the sculpture a spontaneous and fresh character.

$7,500.00

Dimensions: 48 x 36 x 1.5
A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of “Passion" (150-500 words).: When I was 15 I came across a college humanities book with Michelangelo's "Pieta" in it and at that moment something in me couldn't believe that a human being created such a incredible piece of art. I thought, if he can do it, I want to do it as well. Ambitious I know. The beginning of my lifelong passion and obsession with art began with this sculpture, Michelangelo's "Pieta" I like to time to pause and paint it every so often as a reminder of the reason I began this journey in the first place and try get closer to my goal of creating the divine the way he did. Coming back to this and painting it again is something kinda romantic to me... Revisiting this piece will always be part of my journey till I die. Reminds me where I started, where I am now and what I want to achieve in my future.

$4,200.00

Dimensions: 51 x 41 x 3
A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of “Passion" (150-500 words).: Passion is energy, simply put. Energy, as we know, can neither be created or destroyed. It always is, like an evergreen. Living passionately can be exhilarating, exciting, and extremely satisfying. Unfortunately, at times it can also be deeply painful. This is because passion makes us inevitably vulnerable. To live with passion is brave. When we lose something that we’re passionate about, the passion (like energy) transforms. It can manifest itself in a multitude of ways such as anger, hate, and lust. However, if you can teach yourself to harness that energy, you can use that passion towards good. Your passion can help you to rise up and express yourself in ways that you may have been too fearful to try previously. Pick up an instrument, learn to paint, join a dance class, sing! Let your passion take flight. Passion can be the best tool that you possess in life. My painting “Evergreen” portrays my friend Caly. Caly has recollected her energy and passion from a past relationship and has put it to use in her current music, which she now performs regularly and passionately. Lyrics to the Song “Evergreen” By: Caly Bryan Grass stains On one pant leg You'll hold onto them For memory's sake Always Like a diamond ring A Christmas Day surprise I once thought would be for me So cheers to you two, and memories made Looks like we're out of holidays Now I'm evergreen I'm a Christmas tree In January Not quite as merry Green as the stain around my hand From a different ring than planned I'll hold my peace. Evergreen Jaded Shades of jade Nothing new for me To feel this way Champagne And save the dates I'll smile from afar While all of our friends celebrate So here's to you two, as memories fade Cheers to a lifetime of holidays Now I'm evergreen I'm a Christmas tree In January Not quite as merry Green as the stain around my hand From a different ring than planned I'll hold my peace. Evergreen Green as the stain around my hand In the shape of a wedding band I'll hold my peace. Evergreen

Grace Netanya
$3,200.00

Dimensions: 18 x 24
A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of “Passion" (150-500 words).: "The Discovery" is about a child becoming aware of our big, wonderful world. the drawing is meant to depict an "child's-eye" view of the world, exaggerated and exciting, without any danger. This is the first time that humans fully experience "passion", as our self-awareness reaches the point that we become aware of the world outside ourselves. We develop a sense of who "we" are, in comparison to the world around us, and we begin to determine what we value and what we want from this world. As a young child, we see only potential, and our passion for life is untainted by the weariness of age.
